CyberForum e.V. was founded in 1997 as Private Public Partnership (PPP) which was strongly developing over the years to become a forum and platform for IT stakeholders and companies.
Meanwhile, it has strongly developed to become a strong network and is among the biggest and most successful IT networks in Germany with currently more than 760 members.

The current core figures are:

  • More than 600 companies in CyberForum e.V. employ about 16.000 staff. In the TechnologyRegion Karlsruhe (TRK) approx. 3.600 IT companies employ about 36.000 staff. This does not include companies such as Burda, IBM or SAP, which are not located in the TRK but are part of the iRegion Karlsruhe Cluster. From 2002 to 2006, the sector showed an annual increase of staff by approx. 7%.
  • Further members are research institutions such as Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT): joint body of University of Karlsruhe and Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Forschungszentrum Informatik (FZI) and Fraunhofer IOSB.
CyberForum will be the umbrella organisation for a consortium of several regional partners, all members of the association CyberForum:
  • Business will be represented in the consortium by CAS SOFTWARE AG and INNO GERMANY AG. CAS Software AG coordinates the Special Interest Group MOBILE REGION KARLSRUHE an initiative bringing together about 50 companies, research organisations and public bodies involved in mobile technologies and applications. The initiative regroups the leading companies that offer solutions and services in this area. inno Germany AG has been involved over the past 12 moths in the development of the strategy of CyberForum and its focus on Internet technologies, a change that prepared the way for the iRegions project.
  • Research organisations will be represented by the FORSCHUNGSZENTRUM INFORMATIK, an organisation also deeply involved in the scientific and technological evolution of the CyberForum.
